Dear Friends . . .
I would like to update you on three exciting ministries we have started here in the Philippines through the very generous support of our friends and families back in the United States. "Trinity Ministry" is the name which encompasses the three areas and we have just setup a board of directors in order to make decisions relating to the ministry.

If you would be interested in making a tax-deductible donation to any of the ministries below, please make out your check to "General Conference of SDA." Be sure to mark on the check which of the three ministries you want the money to go towards. There are no administrative costs and 100% of the funds goes to the project. Mail the check to:

When Diana and I came over to the Philippines here we wanted to make a difference. We would like to truly and sincerely thank all those who have given to support these three ministries. They truly have made a difference.

The Ahmen Fund
The Ahmen fund was started through the very generous donations of Dr. Edward Hon and his daughter Shirley three years ago. From a small beginning of sponsoring one college student, it now gives support to sixty-three young people's education here in the Philippines and Indonesia. The students which we sponsor all come from the poorest of backgrounds, are very dedicated Adventist Christians and committed to the mission of the church. I have personally witnessed many tears of overwhelming joy as this help from heaven has been given to the faithful students.

Pictured here are five of our students at Central Philippine Adventist College near Bacolod. From left to right is George Garcia who is a theology student, Becky and Merlyn, who are nursing students and Amanda and Marideth who are elementary education majors.

Manila Bay Adventist Preschool
Near Manila is a squatter's village on Manila Bay where a family of six might earn one hundred dollars a month. The people have nothing and there is little hope for their future. Through a partnership with South Bay Junior Academy in Torrance, California, we have been able to start a preschool for twenty-five students for these poorest of families. We have two well-trained teachers there and a very nice classroom and books for the students.

Here are three of our young students dressed in their nice uniforms. The parents work hard to keep their children and their clothes clean despite the dirty and poor conditions.

CAP House
CAP house is a ministry named in honor of my mother which ministers to abused women in the town next to our school. We are currently holding meetings there twice a week and are in the process of partnering with the local social work agency in order to provide short-term housing to abused women and their families in the future. This ministry has already touched many lives and we are looking forward to providing a safe and wholesome place for those who have been victimized in a variety of ways.

Here is a picture of the Christmas party attended by over 150 needy parents and children. It was a real mad-house trying to give out all the presents!
